ROCK HILL, S.C. — A precision manufacturer that has been run by the same family for three generations is weighing a $22.6 million project that would bring it to Rock Hill at 150 Mount Gallant Road, one of four job projects now moving through York County Council.

The company, still known only by the code name Project Blue Mako, would add 54 jobs within five years. Pay for those positions would average just under $69,000. Founded 75 years ago, the firm makes engineered fluid control parts sold to customers in fields from aerospace and defense to cars, medicine and power plants.

Council gave the deal first reading. Under the terms, the firm would get a seven-year special source revenue credit of 25%, and its real name should surface when the deal returns for second reading.

Rock Hill shoppers also figure into another of the projects. Action, a discount chain from the Netherlands that runs upward of 3,500 European stores, wants to put its first U.S. headquarters and a distribution center in Fort Mill. The chain told the county it also hopes to have a Rock Hill shop open on Cherry Road sometime between late 2027 and early 2028.

Together the four projects carry roughly $232.6 million in planned investment and more than 400 jobs. Final county votes on some of the incentives could come as soon as Nov. 16.
