Rock Hill, South Carolina — Hissho Sushi, a major sushi distributor currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina, is making a significant move to relocate its headquarters to Rock Hill, South Carolina. This relocation is coupled with a planned investment of $5 million and is expected to create 146 new jobs for the local community. The company aims to enhance its operational capabilities while ensuring the high standards of quality it has maintained since its inception.

The new corporate headquarters will be situated at 3621 Lazy Hawk Road in Rock Hill. This facility will not only serve as the company’s corporate office but will also function as a franchisee training center and a primary distribution hub. Operations at the new site are projected to commence by August 2025.

Currently located in Charlotte’s Steel Creek area, Hissho Sushi distributes its products to over 2,500 locations, including supermarket deli sections, college campuses, and freestanding stores across the country. The company has an established presence in Rock Hill, providing sushi products for Mein Bowl at Winthrop University. Its products are also available at well-known grocery chains such as Sprouts, Fresh Market, and Food Lion.

The investment is anticipated to have a positive impact on York County, as noted by local officials and stakeholders.

Infrastructure Development

The new property for Hissho Sushi spans more than 40 acres and fronts Interstate 77 at the Mount Holly Road interchange. A cold storage warehouse on the site, which opened last year, forms part of the county’s plans for infrastructure development. The South Carolina Coordinating Council for Economic Development is contributing to this project by awarding a $150,000 grant aimed at assisting with necessary road improvements related to Hissho Sushi’s relocation.
