Rock Hill, S.C. – After a tough 6-5 loss at Wofford on Wednesday, Winthrop University’s baseball team is gearing up for a crucial three-game series against the Radford Highlanders at home this weekend.
Radford (13-28, 4-11 Big South) will face Winthrop (15-24-1, 4-11 Big South) at The Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C. The series schedule is as follows:
Winthrop holds the advantage in the series history, leading Radford 67-51 overall and 34-22 in Rock Hill. The Eagles swept all three games against the Highlanders on the road last season.
Winthrop is currently leading in overall wins in Big South history since the conference moved to NCAA Division I status in 1986. The team is 5th in pitching in the Big South with an ERA of 6.44. Pitcher Riley Huge leads the conference in strikeouts.
Riley Huge has been a standout player for Winthrop, earning multiple Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week accolades. He was also named National Pitcher of the Week by various organizations.

Winthrop will host South Carolina in a rematch on Tuesday, May 7 at 6:00 p.m. The Eagles will be seeking redemption after a previous loss to the Gamecocks earlier in the season.
