Pittsburgh, PA – The Steelers have made some key roster moves as they prepare for their upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys at Acrisure Stadium this Sunday. Linebacker Jeremiah Moon has been activated from the Reserve/Injured List and added to the 53-man roster. Meanwhile, wide receiver Brandon Johnson and running back Jonathan Ward have been elevated from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive Roster for the game.
Ward will return to the practice squad after the game. Moon, who had been sidelined due to injuries, expressed his excitement about returning, saying, “It’s been a long road dealing with a few injuries. I’m definitely grateful and working my tail off to get back, so today is the day.” He added that he has been focused on his recovery, working with trainers, and ensuring that he is in good shape.
Originally claimed off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens, Moon joined the Ravens as an undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL Draft. Last season, he played in eight games, starting one, and tallied 10 tackles, including a tackle for loss. He is eager to show his value to the team by bringing skills such as setting the edge and rushing the passer.
Meanwhile, Johnson, who played college football at the University of Central Florida, has been with the Steelers after starting off with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. Over his time with both teams, he participated in 20 games and has recorded 25 receptions for 326 yards and five touchdowns. In this season, he made 19 catches for 284 yards and four touchdowns.
Ward, who previously played for the Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans, was signed after showing promise during the Steelers’ rookie minicamp. He has appeared in 43 games over his four-season career, carrying the ball 17 times for 69 yards and one touchdown. His collegiate performance includes 28 touchdowns in 42 games at Central Michigan.
