Bosnak, a Purple Heart recipient, has dedicated his life to service and sacrifice, and this new vehicle will assist him and his family significantly as they navigate civilian life.
Rock Hill – A significant event took place on Wednesday morning as former United States Marine Corps sergeant Jesse Bosnak received a fully paid-for 2025 Toyota Cross through the Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program. This award marks the first time this specific vehicle model has been presented under this initiative, designed to provide essential support to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families.
At 37 years old, Bosnak’s journey to becoming a Marine began at age 15, following a surge of patriotism spurred by the events of September 11, 2001. He enlisted at age 17 and was shortly thrust into the rigors of military life. His service included a deployment to Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006, where he was awarded the prestigious Purple Heart after being injured by a rocket-propelled grenade during the second battle of Ramadi.
In addition to his service in Iraq, Bosnak was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008, serving as a radio operator. What was originally intended to be a short mission of five to seven days extended into a grueling five-month experience. Due to the injuries sustained and the psychological impacts of his service, Bosnak was ultimately diagnosed with PTSD and medically retired.
Throughout his military career, Bosnak earned several recognitions for his bravery, including two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals with Combat “V” and two Combat Action Ribbons. These accolades highlight his commitment and sacrifice while serving his country.
On the day of the vehicle award ceremony, Bosnak’s family was present to celebrate this milestone. He is married to Marsha, and together they have two children, Aiden, aged 15, and Mackenzie, aged 13. The new Toyota Cross is expected to greatly assist the family with transportation needs and provide Marsha with reliable means to seek employment. Mackenzie expressed gratitude for the recognition her father is finally receiving, noting the extensive efforts Bosnak has made for others throughout his life.
The partnership that funded the vehicle was a collaboration between Rock Hill’s Toyota dealership and Wells Fargo, showcasing a combined commitment to supporting the financial health of veterans. Through the Transportation4Heroes program, the Military Warriors Support Foundation aims to improve the lives of veterans transitioning back into civilian life. Wells Fargo has played a crucial role in this initiative, successfully managing to reduce pre-existing debt for program participants by an average of $44,000 through their financial mentoring support.
The bank’s efforts extend beyond vehicle donations; they have given away a total of 120 payment-free vehicles to veterans and Gold Star families, reflecting their dedication to aiding those who have served. Cory Tibbs, the CFO for Wells Fargo Auto and Home Lending, emphasized the significance of offering financial support to veterans as they navigate life after service.
Jesse Bosnak was selected for this award from a large pool of candidates, distinguishing himself through his exemplary service and the impact he has made throughout his military career. As a recipient of the 2025 Toyota Cross, Bosnak not only receives a vital asset but is also honored for his courageous contributions to the nation. The support from the Military Warriors Support Foundation, along with Wells Fargo’s financial assistance programs, signifies a promising step towards helping veterans reintegrate into civilian life comfortably and affordably.
