Rock Hill, S.C. – The York County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a pair of burglaries that occurred on August 26 in Rock Hill. The office has provided descriptions of the suspects and is urging residents to come forward with any information that could lead to their capture.

On August 26, the first burglary was reported on Fieldbrook Road. A second burglary occurred at the same location later that day, prompting the victims to install security cameras to monitor their property. On September 2, those cameras captured images of two individuals believed to be connected to the burglaries.

The first suspect is described as a white man, approximately 30 to 45 years of age, standing about 6’2″ tall and weighing around 250 pounds. He has a beard. The second suspect is a white woman of about the same age range, approximately 5’7″ tall, and weighing around 130 pounds. The two suspects were last seen riding a blue motorcycle.

In a separate incident on the same night as the burglaries, law enforcement arrested two individuals linked to the murder of 19-year-old Jy Querious Catoe. The suspects, identified as 19-year-old A’montae Kevion Markise White and a 16-year-old male, were captured on surveillance video outside Adams Grocery on Wilson Street. The footage showed them intentionally shooting Catoe multiple times while he was seated in a car outside the store.

Reports indicate that Catoe was targeted after a confrontation inside the store involving another unidentified man. The confrontation left the unidentified man fearful, causing him to leave the store. When he left, the two suspects opened fire on Catoe’s vehicle as the second victim attempted to get inside, resulting in Catoe being struck in the passenger seat.

White turned himself in to police the following Thursday after the shooting. During his court appearance, he opted not to speak, only indicating intentions to hire a private defense lawyer. Judge Dolores Williams denied bail for White, and he will be held at York County Jail until his trial. The 16-year-old suspect was arrested late Wednesday night and is currently under the custody of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. His identity has not been disclosed due to his age.

It remains uncertain whether prosecutors will attempt to charge the 16-year-old as an adult, which could lead to more severe penalties than those typically imposed in juvenile court. Under South Carolina law, individuals under 18 years cannot possess handguns. A murder conviction in the state can carry a sentence ranging from 30 years to life in prison, while attempted murder can result in penalties of up to 30 years.

The York County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information relating to the burglaries or the shooting incident to step forward and contact their office to assist in bringing justice to the victims.
