About Ward 2
Ward 2 covers portions of northern Rock Hill, including neighborhoods near India Hook Road and the Lake Wylie corridor. The ward seat became vacant, triggering the special election under South Carolina law, which requires a special election to fill mid-term council vacancies.
Rock Hill City Council sets policy for the city’s approximately 75,000 residents, overseeing the budget, public utilities, planning, and major capital projects. Ward council members represent specific geographic districts and are elected by voters within that ward.
Voter Registration and Information
Residents who are not yet registered to vote must register by the statutory deadline prior to June 2 to be eligible. Voter registration can be completed online through the South Carolina Election Commission at scvotes.sc.gov or in person at the county board of voter registration and elections.
