Rock Hill has been selected to host the 2027 Miracle League All-Star Game, city officials announced May 7, 2026, a recognition of the city’s Miracle Park facility and its commitment to adaptive recreation for children and adults with disabilities, according to the city’s official news page.
Miracle Park, located at 1005 Eden Terrace in Rock Hill, is the home facility of the Miracle League of Rock Hill, operated by the York County Disabilities Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. What the All-Star Game Means for Rock Hill
The Miracle League All-Star Game brings together players from Miracle League chapters across the country for a celebration of inclusive sports. Hosting the 2027 event positions Rock Hill as a national model for disability-inclusive recreation infrastructure. The game is expected to bring families, coaches, and supporters from multiple states to Rock Hill.
The Miracle League was founded in Conyers, Georgia in 1998 and has grown to more than 300 chapters serving tens of thousands of players with physical and intellectual disabilities. The organization’s all-star games rotate among host cities with dedicated adaptive facilities.
Rock Hill Named SC Innovation Hub
In a separate recognition announced April 23, 2026, Rock Hill was named an Innovation Hub by the South Carolina Research Authority, according to reporting published by a local business news outlet. Winthrop University serves as the host institution for the designation, which recognizes the city’s growing technology, entrepreneurship, and research ecosystem.
Winthrop University President Edward Serna was quoted in connection with the announcement, citing the university’s role in connecting Rock Hill’s business community with academic research and innovation programming. The Innovation Hub designation brings access to South Carolina Research Authority resources and networks for Rock Hill-area entrepreneurs and businesses.
Rock Hill’s Broader Growth Momentum
The two recognitions come as Rock Hill has also been investing in large-scale economic development projects, including the Riverwalk mixed-use district along the Catawba River and continued expansion of the Knowledge Park district near the University Center in Old Town. The city’s population has grown steadily over the past decade, driven by its proximity to Charlotte and its investment in quality-of-life amenities.
York County and Rock Hill have attracted significant manufacturing and logistics investment in recent years, and the Innovation Hub designation signals a broadening of the city’s economic base toward technology and knowledge industries.
