NIL stands for Name, Image, and Likeness. South Carolina's NIL law (H4957, signed May 2024) applies to intercollegiate athletes only — meaning college athletes at Winthrop University, Clinton College, and York Technical College can earn through endorsements, sponsorships, and brand partnerships. High school NIL is NOT permitted in South Carolina. The {{HS_ASSOC}} prohibits student athletes from receiving compensation for their name, image, or likeness under Article III, Section 14 of the {{HS_ASSOC}} Constitution.
