Rock Hill, South Carolina – Justin Carroll Anderson, a vibrant young athlete celebrated for his passion for sports and infectious spirit, passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 24. Born on March 6, 2001, in Asheville, North Carolina, Anderson’s life was defined by his dedication to friends, family, and athletic pursuits.

A graduate of Ardrey Kell High School in 2019, Anderson made a significant impact during his time as a member of the varsity football team, showcasing not only his athletic skill but also his ability to bring people together. In 2018, he achieved the honor of being selected to compete on the USA Rugby South team, further exemplifying his commitment and talent in sports.

Aside from his athletic prowess, Anderson was known for his deep sense of humor, kindness, and intelligence. His nurturing spirit was reflected in his love for animals and cooking, and he enjoyed spending quality time fishing, gaming, and learning about cars. Music was also a significant part of his life, with a wide variety of interests from Johnny Cash and 60’s classics to contemporary rap.

Anderson cherished his family, particularly the special moments he spent with his grandparents in Florida. He found great joy at the beach and in the mountains, which were often the backdrop to the happy memories he created with loved ones. He is survived by his devoted mother, Andrea Torchia Anderson, as well as his grandparents, Jerry and Mary Lynn Torchia. His legacy continues through his aunts and uncles, Michelle and George Fitzsimmons, and Elizabeth and Jim Babor, alongside cousins Emily Pollock, Dylan Pollock, Ella Pollock, Anna Fitzsimmons, and Matthew Babor.

A memorial service honoring Anderson’s life is scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner of Huntersville. Attendees are encouraged to express their sympathy by donating to a mental health charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
