Mount Gallant sits on the northwestern side of Rock Hill in York County, centered along Mount Gallant Road near Woodtrace and the Mount Gallant Elementary area. From downtown Rock Hill at Main Street and Caldwell, it is roughly 5 miles by road, and the neighborhood’s closest major interstate access is I-77 via the northern Rock Hill exits; US-21/Cherry Road is the other main corridor into the city. The area is near the Catawba River basin and north of the Lake Wylie shoreline, with Manchester Creek and other local drainage patterns to the east and south.
