HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University senior defender Noah Behrmann has been named the Week 8 College Soccer News Defensive Player of the Week after setting up both goals in a 2-1 win at USC Upstate.
Behrmann’s late game-winning assist helped the Panthers extend their winning streak to six games. He now has six assists on the season, a team high that ranks tied for 19th nationally, and career highs with 11 starts and six points.
College Soccer News announced the honor Tuesday as part of its men’s Week 8 awards, citing Behrmann’s clutch help in the Saturday night road win. It was his second career double-assist game.
High Point’s defense has fueled the surge, and the recognition puts a spotlight on a senior right back who has become a weekly difference-maker in the Big South race.
The Panthers will look to keep the streak alive as conference play continues and national rankings update around the midweek slate.
