Maya Hotels has announced the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Steele Creek Charlotte, a new 124-room hotel located in Steele Creek, North Carolina. The hotel is positioned at the entrance to the River District and is directly next to the Charlotte Premium Outlets.
The Hilton Garden Inn Steele Creek is situated off I-485, offering access to I-77 and I-85. It is approximately eight miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The Charlotte Premium Outlets, featuring over 100 stores and various dining options, are directly adjacent to the hotel. Nearby attractions include Lake Wylie, McDowell Nature Preserve, RiverGate, and Carowinds Amusement Park.
Parimal Thakor, co-chief executive officer of Maya Hotels, stated that the company identified an opportunity for a long-term investment in Steele Creek due to its connectivity, growth, and activity. This hotel marks Maya Hotels’ twelfth property overall, its tenth in the Charlotte metropolitan area, and its ninth ground-up development. The six-story concrete and steel construction was designed for durability and longevity, aiming to serve the community for decades.
Krishna Deva, also a co-chief executive officer of Maya Hotels, explained that the property was designed with different guest experiences in mind. For business travelers, this includes productive meeting spaces, a substantial gym, and comfortable areas to relax. For families, the design considers proximity to the outlets, pool access, and exploring local attractions. For groups, the hotel offers suitable spaces for meetings, gatherings, dining, and celebrations.
The hotel features 124 guestrooms, first-floor meeting and event space, and the Garden Grille and Bar. An expanded gym includes dedicated cardio, strength, and functional training zones. Guests can also use an outdoor pool. The first floor’s meeting and event space spans 3,787 square feet across five rooms, suitable for various business and social events. The Garden Grille and Bar provides dining and beverage options on the first floor.
The 1,129-square-foot gym offers six cardio options, including treadmills, an elliptical, a ClimbMill, a rower, and a Peloton bike. The strength area is equipped with a 5-to-75-pound dumbbell set, an adjustable bench, a Smith machine, a leg press, and a multi-press. A dedicated functional training area includes Connexus Edge and a Functional Trainer. Water, towels, and wipes are available in the gym.
Additionally, the hotel will host Dear Charlotte, a separate bar, restaurant, and event space located on the top floor. Dear Charlotte will offer craft cocktails, artisan pizzas, and shareable plates in a garden-inspired setting, with an expected opening in late fall 2026.
