HERE BREAKING

INDIAN LAND, S.C. — Life Time Fitness and landowner Red Ventures have asked Lancaster County to rezone nearly 13 acres at Charlotte Highway and Red Ventures Drive for a two-story athletic club in Indian Land just south of the North Carolina line.

Plans filed for the Indian Land site show about 93,000 square feet indoors plus roughly 50,500 square feet outdoors, with indoor and outdoor pools, pickleball courts, spas, fitness floors, classrooms, a cafe and resort-style cabanas.

The club would be Life the second in the Charlotte region after the Golf Links Drive location in Waverly. County council faces three votes on the rezoning, with the first possible this month.

Life Time markets itself as an athletic country-club chain with roughly 190 to 200 clubs nationwide and memberships that often start in the mid-hundreds of dollars a month depending on the site.

The proposed parcel sits south of a Walmart shopping center along the Charlotte Highway growth corridor that feeds Rock Hill and Ballantyne commuters.

Amenities listed for the Indian Land concept echo other Life Time clubs that mix courts, recovery spas and kids programming under one membership.
